Learning Curve is a free online resource for teaching and learning history. It follows the National Curriculum for key stages 2 to 5.
Teachers will find original documents, photographs and film from The National Archives, supported with background information, worksheets and lesson plans.
Students will find games and activities for thinking and learning about our past, and advice on studying and revision.

BAFTA Nomination for Focus on Film
We knew that Focus on Film had Oscar standard material (look at London Can Take It, nominated in 1941) but now the site itself has attracted the attention of the Academy - British that is. The site has been nominated for a BAFTA Children's Award in the Secondary Learning Category. We're crossing our fingers.
Great Plague of 1665-1666
Three new-look lessons this week on the theme of destruction and revolution. The first looks at the Great Plague for key stage 3, asking "How did London respond?"

The plague outbreak was famously followed by the Great Fire. Built for key stages 1 to 2, this lesson looks at what happened and how London was transformed.
The French Revolution
The Revolution turned France upside down. But how did 18th century Britain react to liberty, egality and fraternity? This key stage 3 lesson allows pupils to investigate the storming of the Bastille and the turmoil of the 1780s through eyewitness accounts.
